Protect your family and build your retirement
IUL is permanent life insurance that sets aside part of what you pay as cash value. That value grows linked to the S&P 500 and is never credited a negative return when the index falls.

In short
- IUL (Indexed Universal Life) is permanent life insurance with cash value that grows linked to an index, such as the S&P 500.
- Index credits have a 0% floor (never negative when the index falls) and a cap on gains; policy charges are deducted every month.
- In retirement, the cash value can be accessed through policy loans, which are generally not taxed.
What an IUL does for you
One policy with three jobs that would normally take separate products.
Protects your family
If you pass away, your family receives the death benefit, which is generally free of federal income tax.
Builds cash value
Part of each premium, after policy charges, goes to cash value that grows linked to the S&P 500, with a 0% floor and a cap on gains.
Becomes income later
In retirement, you can access the cash value through policy loans, which are generally not taxed.
Who it's for
Self-employed people
Business owners and independent workers who don't have a 401(k) through an employer.
Parents of young children
People who want their family protected today while saving for the future.
Long-term planners
An IUL is for 10, 20, 30 years. Policy charges weigh more in the early years; the value builds over time.

Frequently asked questions
Is an IUL an investment?
No. It's permanent life insurance. The cash value follows an index like the S&P 500, but your money isn't invested in the stock market. That's why there's a floor (no negative credit when the index falls) and a cap (gains are limited).
Can I lose money?
The 0% floor protects the index credit, but policy charges are still deducted every month. In years with zero credit, or if you stop paying, the cash value can go down. The insurance company's illustration shows these scenarios.
Do I need a green card?
Not necessarily. Many people living in the U.S. apply with a valid passport and an ITIN (the Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, for those without a Social Security number). The insurance company makes the final decision; your agent will check your case.
How much do I need to pay each month?
It depends on your age, your health and how much you want to build. The agent prepares an illustration with an amount that fits your budget.
Does it replace a 401(k)?
No, it complements one. A 401(k) has contribution limits and is taxed on withdrawal; an IUL has different rules. Many people use both.
Which insurance company backs my policy?
We currently represent National Life Group, Foresters Financial, American National, Mutual of Omaha and Pan-American Life, all insurance companies with over 100 years in business. The company's name is on your quote before you sign, and your agent explains why it's the best fit for your case.
Does filling out the form mean I have to buy?
No. The form only lets an agent contact you and show you your options. You decide afterwards.
